Past Masters

JEUNG,HUNG-SING (aka Jeung,Yim) was followed by the next-in-line master of his school (for the SAN FRANCISCO BRANCH) and this was Master Yuen Hai and his Wife, YUEN,HAI SE-MOE. They were the most enigmatic masters to come out of the Hung-Sing school. Master Yuen was a direct student of ''OUR FOUNDER , JEUNG,HUNG-SING'', when he first opened his school and contributed such weaponry as the butterfly knives and a wide variety of hand forms and techniques . Master Yuen was also a well-known fighter, traveler, and practitioner of a variety of styles in Southern China. Mrs. Yuen, a noted northern stylist, contributed a majority of internal training aspects to our style such as breathing internally, and other(similar to)Northern type hand/arm maneuvers. The enigmatic couple was then followed by their student and our Next Master and Founder of the San Francisco Hung-Sing Studio , Professor Lau Bun.He was the next to carry on JEUNG,HUNG-SING's IDEALS but in the U.S.A. in the 1930's..

OUR FOUNDERS' FIRST GENERATION STUDENTS represented in the U.S.A.'s HUNG-SING SCHOOL, were Direct Deciples of OUR FOUNDER JEUNG,HUNG-SING : they were YUEN,HAI: WONG,SAY: AND OF COURSE THE MOST PROLIFIC AND FAMOUS OF JEUNG,HUNG-SING'S STUDENTS CHAN, SING (WHOSE DECENDANT STILL PRACTICES TO THIS DAY; Ms. CHO,CHI-HON born Dec.29,1985) THE REPRESENTATION OF FIRST GENERATION MASTERS(WONG,SAY and CHAN,SING WAS BROUGHT IN TO OUR BRANCH WHEN SEFU DINO UPON HIS SEFU'S(JEW,LEONG)RETIREMENT, HE WISHED TO CONTINUE HIS HUNG-SING CHOY-LEE-FUT STUDIES, SEFU DINO THEN WENT UNDER MASTER HAW(HO),CHERK,WAH son of HAW(HO),CHURNG of FUT-SAN (WHO ALSO RETIRED RECENTLY) AND, HAS BEEN GOING REGUARLY BACK AND FORTH TO FUT-SAN,CHINA FOR CONSTANT UPGRADES TO HIS ALREADY OVER 40 years EXPERIENCE in HUNG SING CHOY-LEE-FUT WHICH HE DEVELOPED HERE IN SAN FRANCISCO.

"OUR FOUNDER"," JEUNG,HUNG-SING "HAD MANY STUDENTS AND THEY IN TURN, HAD MANY STUDENTS AND SO ON TIL' THIS VERY DAY, WHERE THE AMOUNT OF" JEUNG, HUNG-SING'S" FOLLOWERS HAVE BECOME SO VAST THAT THE AMOUNT IS UNKNOWN. AS WE KNOW AND ACCEPT JEUNG, HUNG-SING AS OUR FOUNDER, WE MUST REALIZE THAT UNDER THE FOUNDER HIS 1st LINE STUDENTS (eg. CHAN,SING-WONG,SAY-YUEN,HAI -LEE,YUN-LUI,CHAN(teacher to the famous TOM,SOM founder of the BUK-SING Branch of CHOY-LEE-FUT).THIS IS JUST TO NAME A FEW OF THE MANY (more names will follow as info becomes available) AS THEY WERE WITH THE MASTER IN THE BEGININNG STAGES of CHOY-LEE-FUT AND THE MASTER DEVELOPED EACH OF THEM WITH THE SAME BASICS ,but, ALSO WITH DIFFERENT APPROACHES TO OUR SYSTEM AND THEREFORE, THE FORMS AND USAGES MAY DIFFER ALSO, EVEN TO THIS DAY. SOME OF THE CONCEPTS THAT STAYED THE CONSTANT WERE THE BASIC MANUVERS THAT WE USE WERE THE UPPERCUT,ROUNDHOUSE, STAB PUNCH,PANTHER PUNCH,TIGER CLAWS,BACKFISTS,STAMPING FIST,and many of the horse stances THIS IS JUST TO NAME A VERY FEW OF THE MANY TECHNIQUES TAUGHT.IN THE BEGINING OUR FOUNDER ,JEUNG,HUNG-SING PLACED MORE EMPHASIS ON THE GOOD TECHNIQUES OF FIGHTING AS APPOSED TO FORMS, USING FORMS ONLY TO STRENGTHEN THE TECHNIQUES AS THE HUNG-SING PEOPLE DO ,TO THIS VERY DAY.

BECAUSE "JEUNG,YIM"(aka JEUNG,HUNG-SING) HAD WORKED SO HARD AS A TEACHER/FIGHTER AND TO DEVELOPE HIS ART THAT HIS DECENDANTS, TO THIS DAY, HAVE A STRONG NAME BOTH IN ASIA AND THE U.S.A. FOR DEVELOPING STRONG and UPSTANDING PEOPLE, THAT THE NAME HUNG-SING (WITH THE CHINESE CHARACTERS FOR (GLORIOUS VICTORY)STILL STANDS TALL.

EVEN THOUGH THEY (THE FIRST GENERATION MASTERS UNDER JEUNG,HUNG-SING) DIFFERED IN SOME OF THEIR APPROACHES, THEY WERE AT THE THE SAME TIME,THE SAME. ALL CAME FROM THE FOUNDER(JEUNG,HUNG-SING and FROM THE FUT-SAN SCHOOL .
